Serasmart AISerasmart AI Cookie Policy
This Policy explains what information Serasmart AI keeps on your device and why. It complements the Serasmart AI Privacy policy, which describes all processing of personal data.
1. About this Policy
1.1 Serasmart AI is provided by SERANO CONSULT SRL, sole registration code 25281467, with its registered office at [to complete: sediu] (hereinafter "we"). You can write to us at support@serasmartai.com.
1.2 This Policy applies to the serasmartai.com website, the installable phone app and the Windows app, which use the same interface.
1.3 For what data we process, to whom we disclose it and what rights you have, read the Privacy policy, at serasmartai.com/legal/confidentialitate/.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
2.1 Cookies are small files that a site places in the browser and that the browser sends back with every request to that site. Similar technologies include the browser's local storage ("localStorage"), which keeps information on the device without sending it to the server automatically, and the "service worker", a script that can run in the background for a site.
2.2 Storing information on your device and accessing it are governed by Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC, transposed in Romania by Law no. 506/2004. The general rule is that your consent is needed, except for information strictly necessary to provide the service you have expressly requested.
3. Serasmart does not use cookies
3.1 The Serasmart servers do not set cookies. You are signed in through a session token that the app sends in the header of each request, and requests to the server do not carry cookies.
3.2 For this reason, Serasmart does not use first-party cookies for signing in, preferences, statistics or advertising.
4. What we keep in your browser
4.1 The app keeps the following information in the browser's local storage:

4.2 Local storage has no expiry date: the information stays until the app deletes it (for example when you sign out) or until you delete it (see section 9). It is not sent to the server automatically; the app sends only the session token, to sign you in.
4.3 The Windows app keeps the same information in its data folder on the computer. The phone app that runs through Cloudflare keeps the session token in the app's storage on the phone.
5. Service worker
5.1 The website installs a service worker for the installable app. It keeps nothing in a cache: the interface and the answers always come from the server. It only shows a short page when there is no internet connection and displays push notifications, which at present only the administrator's account receives.
6. Third-party pages and content
6.1 Payments. Payment and subscription management take place on the Stripe pages (Stripe Checkout and the customer portal), hosted on Stripe's domain. Stripe may set its own cookies there, for example for payment security and fraud prevention, under its policy.
6.2 Connected apps. When you connect an app (for example Google, Notion or GitHub), you sign in on that app's site, which may use its own cookies.
6.3 Images in answers. An answer may contain images loaded from other sites (over HTTPS). Your browser requests them directly from those sites, which thereby receive the IP address and the type of browser and may use their own cookies, under your browser's rules. Serasmart does not send them the address of the page the request comes from.
6.4 Links. Links to other sites open in a new tab. We do not control those sites' cookies; please read their policies.
7. What we do not use
7.1 Serasmart does not use traffic-analytics tools, advertising, tracking pixels, embedded social networks, or scripts or fonts loaded from third parties: the fonts come with the app, and the site's security policy allows only its own scripts.
8. Why we do not show a cookie banner
8.1 We do not show a consent banner because Serasmart does not use cookies, and the information in section 4 is either strictly necessary for the service you requested (signing in, the accounts on the device) or preferences you chose yourself and that it merely applies (language, theme, appearance, model), or technical copies without any analytics data, needed to display the interface you asked for (the translations received, the list of models). This is how we understand the exception in section 2.2; we use nothing for analytics or advertising.
8.2 If we ever add analytics tools or other technologies that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent before using them and will update this Policy.
9. How to delete the data in your browser
9.1 Signing out removes from the browser the session token, the account data and permissions, the chosen model and the list of models, the information about the last backup to GitHub, and removes the account from the list of accounts on the device.
9.2 After signing out, the device's preferences remain (language, theme, appearance, sidebar, answer mode, choices for images and video, the closed install prompt, the welcome window, model combinations, the translations received) as well as the other accounts saved on the device, if any. These do not contain conversations.
9.3 You can delete all of them from the browser settings, by deleting the data of the serasmartai.com site (in most browsers: Settings → Privacy → Cookies and site data). The installable phone app can also be uninstalled.
9.4 In the Windows app, signing out removes the account data as in section 9.1; the rest stays in the app's data folder.
10. The legal pages
10.1 The pages with the Serasmart Terms and conditions and policies only read the language chosen in the app (the serasmart-lang key), so that they open in your language. They write nothing on the device and do not use cookies.
11. Changes to the Policy
11.1 We may update this Policy, for example when what the app keeps changes. The version in force is always the one published at serasmartai.com/legal/, with the effective date and the version history.
11.2 For material changes we notify you at least 30 days in advance, by an in-app message and, where possible, by e-mail, and for technologies that require consent section 8.2 applies.
11.3 This Policy is drawn up in Romanian; translations are for information, and in case of difference the Romanian version prevails.
